Hotel Kirstine Mission Hotel

Historic hotel in Naestved
Back in time, Hotel Kirstine was the farm of Councilman Mathias Hansteen, and the foundation of the farm is a three-winged half-timbered structure from the 1700th century. Mathias Hansteen (died late in 1753) was a royally privileged wine merchant in Næstved, councilman 1745-50 and postmaster in 1753, whereby the farm also became a post office. The year after Hansteen's death, the captain of the Koffardi, Jørgen Mauritzen Samsøe (ca. 1706–1779), bought the farm, to which he retired to live off his fortune. He was the father of the poet Ole Johan Samsøe, who is commemorated on a plaque on the facade facing Slagkildevej.

From 1809-76, the farm was the residence of the mayors of Næstved. But the farm was not an official residence; they owned it themselves. The mayors were royally appointed officials who often came from outside and sometimes moved from the city again. It was therefore practical to buy the farm from their predecessor.

In 1909 the building became the Missionshotellet, and in 1988 the name was changed to Hotel Kirstine by Vagn Poulsen and Elisabeth Fløistrup. The name has stuck, and the hotel is now known by this name.

We look forward to welcoming you to our hotel.
